Kitten Guarantee & Conditions

At Mellisa’s Maine Coon Family, we are committed to the health and well-being of our kittens. We offer a comprehensive health guarantee to ensure your peace of mind.

Guarantee Terms

To qualify for a replacement kitten due to a genetic defect, the Buyer must adhere to the following conditions:

✅ Notification: The Buyer must promptly inform the Seller of any diagnosed genetic defect.
✅ Veterinary Confirmation: A written diagnosis from the Buyer’s veterinarian is required.
✅ Second Opinion: A second written opinion from another licensed veterinarian must be provided.
✅ Spay/Neuter Requirement: The kitten must be spayed or neutered, and proof (photo and vet’s contact details) must be submitted.
✅ Pedigree Return: The Buyer must return the kitten’s pedigree documentation.
✅ Replacement Terms: If the above conditions are met and a genetic defect is confirmed, the Buyer will receive a replacement kitten of the same value, color, and purchase price within 12 months.

Covered Conditions

The following genetic health conditions are covered under this guarantee:

✔ Severe hip dysplasia requiring surgery
✔ Life-threatening defects affecting the spine, heart, pancreas, or kidneys

Exclusions

The following conditions are NOT covered under this guarantee:

❌ Cosmetic or minor issues – Cherry eye, umbilical hernia, loose hips/knees, infertility, allergies
❌ Common infections – Bacterial, viral, or parasitic infections
❌ Anesthesia risks – Any death occurring under anesthesia is not covered
❌ Medical expenses – The Seller is not responsible for any veterinary costs incurred by the Buyer

Additional Terms

📌 Environmental Factors & Injuries – Any conditions caused by external factors or injuries are not covered.
📌 Indoor Requirement – The kitten must be kept indoors for the guarantee to remain valid.
📌 Replacement Agreement – Replacement kittens will be agreed upon mutually and may not come from the same parents.
📌 Non-Transferable – This warranty applies only to the original Buyer and cannot be transferred.

Claim Procedure

🔹 Preventative Care: The Buyer must maintain regular veterinary care for the kitten.
🔹 Timely Notification: The Seller must be notified within two business days of diagnosis.
🔹 Processing Time: If approved, refunds or reimbursements will be issued within 14 days of certification.
🔹 Registration Issues: Any pedigree or registration concerns must be resolved within 120 days of purchase.
